I walk in the park, my shoes in a bag
Because I need to feel free
I look at the people around me and think
Is this how it’s supposed to be?
I go to a restaurant and start to sit down
And ask for a table for two
But all I can think of is how it would be
If you were here…  I’m a fool

And it feels like I never do right, and I fight, cause mostly I do intend
To treat with respect and give love for a fact, now this is what I amend
A given simplicity is what I seek, just stick like a bee to your hive
But still, there’s one question, which remains unanswered, “What is sacred in life”

I’m on my second course, sit next to these whores,
Start thinking what’s wrong with me?
I go to the toilet and look at the pamphlets
And ask myself was this meant to be
Then after diner I go home like a sinner
Start filling myself with whiskey and wine
Now it starts with a blink, and it ends with a wink
And then a big slap in the eye

And it feels like I never do right, and I fight, cause mostly I do intend

Now I wake up on the couch, only able to crouch
And feel like I should go to bed
Because of the alcohol I start to feel sick
A block of concrete lies now in my head
I pick up the phone because I am all alone
But there’s no one that I’m able to call
Perhaps that is what’s sacred in life
A person who’s there when you fall

And it feels like I never do right, and I fight, cause mostly I do intend
